By winning the prestigious framework agreement with the city of Dortmund, education company Prowise confirms its pioneering role in the digitalisation of German education. Over the next few years, thousands of Dutch touchscreens will be installed in Dortmund, as well as in many other cities of our eastern neighbours. The estimated turnover for the project in North Rhine-Westphalia may reach 15 million euros.
The city of Dortmund, centrally located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, is a model for educational digitisation in the region. Surrounding towns and villages are watching expectantly as Dortmund uses the funds released by the Digitalpakt to equip classrooms with modern teaching facilities. In one of the most prestigious procurement processes of all of Europe, the choice finally fell on Prowise's solutions.
Transparent collaboration
"We are delighted that we have found a contract partner in Prowise, which will be equipping schools in Dortmund with interactive digital boards over the next three years via the Digitalpakt. Although we are only at the beginning of the project, we can report a good and transparent cooperation so far, which ultimately benefits everyone," says Herrn van Rissenbeck from Stadt Dortmund.
Starting after summer holidays
Prowise did not waste any time and the first classrooms in Dortmund have already been equipped with the touchscreens designed in Budel. Dozens of schools have already been surveyed to determine the best way to carry out the installations so that teachers can start work smoothly after the summer holidays. This entire project, from installations in schools to extensive training courses for teachers, is carried out by Prowise with its own colleagues.
Market share
With numerous large projects throughout Germany, with the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt as one of the eye-catchers, Prowise is partly responsible for the educational catch-up from our eastern neighbours. Throughout the country, teachers are switching from the chalkboards still used in Germany to the interactive Prowise displays. Due to spectacular and constant growth, the German market is responsible for an increasing share of the annual turnover of the touchscreen specialist.
